Ladies and gents, this is the Rocket Speedster, based on the 2015 Mustang GT in convertible guise but enhanced with carbon fiber, more ponies, and other goodies.

It's not the first time we meet the Rocket, Galpin and Fisker's 725-horsepower Ford Mustang, but we've never seen a speedster version of this beast so far.

It's easy to spot the 'Stang in the Rocket Speedster, but you can also see how designers made it look like it's on steroids. A menacing grille, black go-fast stripes and two nostrils on the hood, along with flared wheel arches and an overall wider body kit are what this bad boy uses to stand out from the crowd.

It goes without saying that all those new body parts are made of carbon fiber and hide a … more

The “ultimate American muscle car” is back in convertible form.

A few months ago Galpin Auto Sports – also known as GAS for some of the Pimp My Ride TV show fans – presented a bespoke, production-ready, totally-bonkers, 5.0-liter supercharged V8 Mustang, designed by pen-maestro Henrik Fisker.

Named the Rocket, the car took the motoring world by storm, with lots of positive feedback ever since it was officially unveiled at the LA Auto Show. I mean, who would have expected a Fisker-designed coachbuilt Ford Mustang with 725 horses on tap?

Now, at Pebble Beach, the guys just unveiled the Rocket Speedster – the Rocket’s latest topless iteration. Mind you, this car is much … more

Galpin Ford and Henrik Fisker have unveiled the Rocket Speedster this weekend at Pebble Beach.

The coupe came out back in November 2014 at the Los Angeles Auto Show and now the open-top version painted in deep metallic red is being showcased at Pebble Beach. It's obviously based on the Ford Mustang Convertible in GT specification and has received a speedster tonneau cover that starts from the front seats headrests and actually covers the rear seats.

All the custom body parts are manufactured from carbon fiber while the V8 5.0-liter engine has been supercharged to deliver a massive 725 bhp (540 kW) channeled to huge 21-inch bespoke alloy wheels. It comes with additional air scoops installed on the rear … more

Last year’s Galpin Rocket proved to be such a hit that the people behind the 725-horsepower muscle car, Galpin Auto Sports and Henrik Fisker, have followed it up with a convertible version. Called the Galpin Rocket Speedster, the car is on show this weekend at the 2015 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

Still a concept, the car will likely see some form of limited production in the ensuing year, just like its coupe sibling. In fact, interested buyers can already place an order through Galpin’s own Ford Motor Company [NYSE:F] dealership in Los Angeles or through one of several hand-picked dealers both here in the United States and in other markets.

    By Brad Anderson- Aug 16,2015

At Monterey Car Week 2015, the covers have just been taken off the Galpin Fisker Rocket Speedster Concept. As the name suggests, the car is a drop-top version of the Fisker Rocket unveiled late last year which is of course based around the 2015 Ford Mustang.

The car presented at Monterey is a concept but it has been created with the intention of reaching the market in limited numbers. The bodywork of the car itself has been constructed solely from carbon fibre and that includes the removable hardtop which can transform the vehicle from a true two-seater speedster into a comfortable four-seat convertible.

Discussing the car, designer Henrik Fisker said “When I worked on the Rocket Speedster project … more

At the 2014 L.A. auto show, Henrik Fisker made big news as he showed a sexy, carbon-fiber-bodied Ford Mustang–based concept called the Rocket, which became a production reality with the help of Galpin Auto Sports of Van Nuys, California. Now, roughly nine months later—surprising no one—Fisker and Galpin have announced that the Rocket coupe (which we drove already) will be joined by a rather more extroverted variant, the topless Rocket Speedster, which made its debut on the Concept Lawn at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Élégance.

With a tonneau cover over the rear seat (which has not been deleted), the Speedster looks suitably exotic, thanks to fairings behind the front seats … more

Remember the gorgeous Galpin-Fisker Rocket that made its initial debut at the 2014 Los Angeles auto show, and then showcased its production form at the 2015 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance? Well, Fisker is back at the 2015 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, with a sumptuous speedster version of the striking Mustang coupe.

Like the coupe, the new Galpin-Fisker Rocket Speedster’s bones come from a 2015 Ford Mustang. Holding true to the Speedster designation, a specially-crafted carbon fiber rear tonneau cover converts the four-seater convertible into a lithe two-seat roadster. Henrik Fisker, renowned designer of the Aston Martin DB9, Vantage V8, and the BMW Z8, turned his pen to the new 2015 … more

The Rocket Coupe, introduced at the Los Angeles Auto Show last year, was a collaboration in reimagination carried out by designer Henrik Fisker and Galpin Auto Sports on a Ford Mustang. The next version of that concept has come to Pebble Beach in the metallic red form of the Rocket Speedster Concept you see here.

In this guise the Mustang convertible gets a speedster tonneau cover that runs all the way to the front seat headrests, covering the back seats. As with the rest of the bodywork the cover is fashioned in carbon fiber, portions of it visible in places like the stripes running along the hood from the hexagonal grill to the tonneau, and the exposed carbon fiber air ducts that are mesh-filled to … more

Danish designer and automotive entrepreneur Henrik Fisker is back with another low-volume custom car project, this one aimed at upping both the performance and styling of the latest Ford Mustang convertible.

Declaring it the “ultimate American muscle car,” Fisker and partner Beau Boeckmann, president of Ford mega-dealer Galpin Motors are bringing their Rocket Speedster Concept to Monterey, California this weekend for the annual Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

It follows the launch of the Galpin-Fisker Rocket last year, which was based on the then-new 50th anniversary Ford Mustang. Both models undergo a number of design tweaks, but for many, the real selling point will be out of … more
