Galpin Subaru of Santa Clarita donated $7,364 to the Michael Hoefflin Foundation for Children’s Cancer on Thursday evening as part of the 8th annual Share the Love event.
The foundation, which provides financial and emotional support to children and their families who have cancer, will use these funds for their outreach program, said Gillian Stone, executive director of the foundation. The plan is to purchase gas and grocery cards for the families.
“For us, it is absolutely wonderful,” Stone said of the donation, which was presented at Newhall’s Senses on Main.
A $250 donation from Subaru is given to the customer’s choice of charity for each person who bought or leased a new Subaru between November and January. The Hoefflin Foundation was one of the chosen charities. More than $65 million has been donated through the Share the Love event.
“Thanks to Galpin Subaru and Dan Sterkel (Galpin of Santa Clarita general manager) for always keeping us in the forefront of everything they’re doing and for such a generous donation,” she added.
Stone also said a thank you to the community.
“The only way we survive is with the community,” she said. “They’ve taken good care of us.”
